ReadySteddy100 OP 1 day ago • How old do these kittens look? They literally weren't here 2 hours ago but they don't look 2 hours old to me. I have no idea how they got here but I gave the mom water and now we are best friends I guess

Brain_Hawk 1 day ago Since you said you don't want to take into cat and her kittens, you should start contacting local shelters. The mother appears to lets you touch her be taming (an actual feral cat would rip your arm off), And the kittens should be socialized and taken some more protected.

Outside, even if the weather is reasonable for the kittens, there's a very good chance they get eaten by local predators, raccoons foxes or whatever. Their survival chance significantly decreases, and if they do survive you may be contributing to several feral cats roaming around your neighborhood, which is not awesome.

There's some possibility that the cat got pregnant and somebody threw her out of their house. This happens sometimes. Rescued a cat in February who was wandering the back alleys in -30°, and was clearly pregnant. Probably the owners didn't get her fixed and threw her out.

A good rescue will come get the kittens for you and the mom, and find them a good Foster. They can also check if she has a chip, though I'm guessing not if she has no caller and is pregnant. Good luck. I hope you're able to help mom and her kittens be safe!

Less-Engineer-9637 1 day ago I have a very strong feeling this cat and her babies were abandoned. Feral lactating cats do not under any circumstances let people just come up to them and pet them and coo over their babies. This was definitely someone's pet.

Flat-Limit5595 · 1 day ago Congrats, a random cat jumped in my car on a camping trip and she popped out some babies 2 weeks later. We didn't feed her or anything, just chose us house her babies. If you adopt any of them i recommend the momma and a baby, Momma Kiwi is inseparable from her kids (momma is on the left).

Standard protocol: 1. Contact a veterinarian. At some point, you will need to spay Momma before she goes out and does this again. 2. Either you keep Momma are your own one true cat, or you keep one kitten, if Momma is feral and won't have anything to do with you. Or maybe care for Momma anyways. 3. Find good homes for the other kittens!

Boyfriend's cat got out one day and then later we noticed she was getting a belly. Everyone except him knew she was pregnant he just kept saying she was getting fat, until my mom pointed out she was getting fat in one spot.

    • motherofcattos 1 day ago Contact shelters in your area but meanwhile please take them in. Might be dangerous for them if there are stray dogs or other predators around. You can get a cheap litterbox and some cat sand.

DIANABLISS19 · 1 day ago • Cats only have their kittens in a place where they feel safe. After about a week or so, she'll move them someplace more permanent and out of the way. If you give her a box and blanket to go to, don't move them yourself, let her do it in her own time, she'll move them and stay there until they are old enough to come out and see the world. Don't allow them to be disturbed or she will vanish with them one night. You'd be amazed at how uncanny cats are at disappearing.
